Bekele Debele

Mr. Debele has over 20 years’of experience working in public sector, academia, and the private sector, covering areas such as agriculture, climate change, environment, energy and water. Currently, Mr. Debele is leading Bank-financed operations in Sustainable development in China and Mongolia, largely focusing on green development, infrastructure, and agriculture. Bekele has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and authored and/or edited multiple technical reports on climate change impacts on agriculture and water, national water strategy for multiple countries, and renewable energy desalination. Bekele also serves as a focal person from World Bank Beijing Office for Bank engagement on Belt & Road Initiative as well as for China-World Bank-Africa tripartite program.
