Jörg Hartung
Dr. Jörg Hartung (Dr. med. vet.) is veterinarian and Professor for Animal Hygiene and Husbandry and Professor for Animal Welfare Science of the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Germany. He served as director of the Institute for Animal Hygiene, Animal Welfare and Farm Animal Behaviour, University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Germany for 20 years. He has more than 40 years of teaching and research in veterinary science, animal welfare and health, animal hygiene and production, food delivering animals, food chain (housing, transport, stunning, slaughter), environmental protection related to farm animal production and occupational health aspects in animal farming. He has participated in numerous EU-, national and international research projects. He has more than 220 refereed journal publications, about 60 co-authored EFSA reports and opinions, about 250 congress and miscellaneous publications, as well as several patent applications.
